If You Can't Be There, We Can Help
Normally, when you can't get home on time you can call a neighbor, friend or family member to feed and care for your pet. But, if you were involved in an accident or emergency and were unable to communicate it could take hours or longer for the people you trust to find out your pet needs help.
When you carry an Emergency Contacts card or key tag, emergency personnel have access to our toll free number where our call center agents can use the information in your profile to communicate with your family and friends and ensure that your pets are cared for - even if you can't be there.
If Your Pet Is Lost, We Can Help
Responsible pet owners buy ID tags to make it easy to contact them if someone finds their lost pet. But since most pet tags only have room for one phone number, it can be hard to reach an owner who is away from that phone.
During Hurricane Katrina, thousands of pets were found wandering with and without tags. Some of those tags were useless, as phone numbers were invalid because the pet owner was forced to evacuate and there was no alternative way to contact them.
These tags can be placed on pet collars along with normal ID tags, giving the person who finds your pet an additional way to reach you and to get important, possibly life-saving information about your pet.

Anna's Story
Anna was on her way home from work Friday night when someone ran a red light and slammed into her car. Unconscious, she was rushed to the local ER where doctors and nurses gave her top notch care.
Checking her wallet, they found her driver's license, her work id and a card that said EMERGENCY CONTACTS in big bold letters. They called the phone number on the card and got an Emergency Contacts agent who gave them Anna's insurance info and connected them to her parents in about 2 minutes.
After the agent made sure they had all the info they needed, he hung up and called Anna's neighbor (listed as her #2 contact) who quickly went to Anna's apartment to feed, walk and take care of her two dogs - just like he promised he would if there was ever an emergency.
Anna woke up on Sunday morning happy to be alive, happy to see her parents and happy to know her dogs were safe and sound with someone she trusted.
That's the happy version of a fictional story based on events that happen thousands of times a year.
